Our Annual Motorcycle Rally
IORNZ holds an annual rally early in the year, for its members or anyone who has an interest in Indian Motorcycles. These are popular events and are well patronised, many members base their restorations and project builds being finished in time for the Rally.
The 2025 rally was based in Pahiatua which is part of the Manawatu district in the lower North Island. This year was a big turnout of 75 people and 45 bikes that had come from all over the country. Our weather for the weekend was fantastic, as usual, and gave us a great day for a ride via back roads to Dannevirke then out to the Pongaroa Hotel where they put on a superb lunch for us all and provided a welcome liquid refreshment.
The AGM, dinner and prizegiving events were held once back at our lodgings in the old Pahiatua Hospital that was expertly catered by the local lions group.
This year we had something a little different. For around 25 of us that wanted to stay on another night there was a ride on Sunday out west over to Peter Thompsons motorcycle collection in Rongotea. A great collection with all sorts of two wheeled marvels, most of which are running and still in original as found condition. Lunch in Ashurst before a quick ride over the hill back to Pahiatua where the smaller group headed to a local hotel for dinner then back to camp for a few more hours of talking Indians and the experiences of the weekend.
Check out the pictures from this and all our past rallies on the
Photo Gallery page and search YouTube for IORNZ where you will find some video of this and earlier rallies. In previous years our rally has been held at various places around the country including Ngaruawahia, Cromwell, Whangarei and Haast. These are fantastic events organised by club members in the hosting district.
Come along and join a great bunch of friendly Indian guys and gals at the next one.
